MillerCoors Workforce

We teach our employees valuable skills to help them grow into more effective team members and managers. Our programs give people the opportunity to learn, share their ideas and grow professionally and personally.  To confirm our commitment to our people we are setting measureable goals to show that we’re really meeting our employees’ needs and expectations for a fulfilling, challenging and exciting career in an inclusive and caring workplace. To confirm our commitment to our people, by 2025 we’re aiming to achieve recognition on the Great Places to Work® Index.

Employee Engagement & Development

Engaging and developing our people is a top priority at MillerCoors. Career paths and developmental opportunities are a cornerstone of employee engagement. We encourage employees to continue to learn and develop their career through our Performance Management process and our First Choice Learning Center. We're committed to offering our employees in-person and online training programs to build competencies, share best practices and advance leadership capabilities. In 2016, 18 hours of training and development were provided to a full time Molson Coors employee on average. Depending upon job role and target audience, an employee may receive up to 40 hours of training annually.

In addition, First Choice University offers both online and classroom training at facilities in Milwaukee, Chicago and Golden, and at our individual breweries and offices. Employees logged 192,604 training hours through MCU in 2016 through course offerings focused on job skills development, business and sales, diversity, leadership, health and safety, ethics and more.

Educating and engaging our employees in every department at every facility is vital to achieving our sustainability goals. We will continue to work on increasing awareness both inside and outside the company because we believe everyone has a role to play in brewing a sustainable future.

Diversity and Inclusion

We know that when we support diversity from within our company, we find new ways of working and bright ideas. MillerCoors set a U.S. people goal aimed at increasing diversity representation within senior management, to achieve 30% female and 18% people of color representation, goals that were successfully achieved in 2016.   We are dedicated to building an inclusive culture throughout MillerCoors and recognize the strengths of gender differences. We want to empower women to progress in their careers.

Through our diversity and inclusion program, we support the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees. For the 12th consecutive year, MillerCoors has achieved a rating of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, which rates U.S. workplaces on LGBT equality.

Workplace Safety

Health and safety at work is part of our  commitment to doing business the right way. The safety and wellness of our people is fundamental to their engagement and we actively work to build a workplace culture that embraces wellness and safety. By 2025, we want to show our commitments in action by achieving a 40% reduction in lost time accident (LTA) rate.

Our approach to managing health and safety is guided by our Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, Health & Safety Policy and our internal Environment, Health & Safety Management System (EH&SMS). Safety the MillerCoors Way formalizes our commitment to driving the right behaviors. It highlights the importance of creating a  culture of safety and encompasses effective communication about safety through structured team meetings, workplace hazard spotting and management, behavioral safety, robust investigation when things go wrong and a world-class approach to occupational health.

Employee Wellness

We emphasize health and wellness, as well as a work–life balance through flexible scheduling. We offer employees numerous health benefits tailored by business unit and work location. Employees are provided life and disability benefits, and in some locations this means employees choose medical plans, dental coverage and vision coverage. Most employees can also participate in various aspects of our wellness program, which helps inform and, when possible, incentivize healthy habits and lifestyles.

MillerCoors complies with applicable minimum required maternity leave laws and many go further to take care of new parents. Our U.S. operating units now provide 12 weeks of fully paid maternity leave to eligible mothers who give birth. In addition, we provide an additional 4 weeks of parental leave pay for eligible new parents who have been with the company for at least one year.
