Blue Moon again includes new limited edition beers in variety packs, delighting drinkers at every turn. Spring includes Sunshine Citrus Blonde, summer with Blackberry Tart Ale, fall brings back fan-favorite Caramel Apple Spiced Ale and winter includes a new fan-created Gingerbread Spiced Ale.

Blue Moon introduces the Expressionist Collection – a selection of intriguing interpretations of classic styles for the craft beer drinker – with Rounder, a Belgian-style Pale Ale and Short Straw, a Farmhouse Red Ale.

Blue Moon shares their Vintage Collection including GABF Gold-Medal winner, Golden Knot – a wheat beer brewed with the juice of Chardonnay grapes; and Crimson Crossing, a wheat beer brewed with the juice of Merlot grapes.

Blue Moon launches the Graffiti Collection, a set of bigger, bolder ales inspired by the unpredictable stories of our brewers with Tongue Thai’ed, a bold brew with lemongrass and basil made for pairing with Thai food and Pine in the Neck™, a double IPA brewed with juniper berries.

Leinenkugel’s satiates drinker’s thirst for Shandy with the Shandy Can Sampler Pack – a limited edition can variety pack with Leinenkugel’s® Summer Shandy®, Lemon Berry Shandy and the newly released Leinenkugel’s® Orange Shandy, a traditional wheat beer with refreshing natural orange flavor inspired by the orange harvests.

Leinenkugel's® Canoe Paddler®, a new spring and summer seasonal, is introduced as the brewery’s take on the Kölsch-style beer. All Kölsch-style beers are easy-drinking and crisp, but Leinenkugel’s® Canoe Paddler® adds a touch of rye for a slightly spicy flavor and a clean, dry finish. Canoe Paddler won a Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival® in 2013 in the German-style Kölsch category.

Leinenkugel’s says hello to Hoppin’ Helles. Leinenkugel’s® Hoppin’ Helles™ is our spin on the style that puts it a bit on the hoppy side with five all-American hops. It starts bright and citrusy with a nice tropical hop aroma and ends with a tangy spice finish.

Leinenkugel’s introduces two new beers in the Big Eddy Series – Big Eddy Ryewine Ale, a combination of spicy complexity from multiple layers of rye with the character of today’s American barley wines, and Big Eddy Über-Oktoberfest, a toastier take on an Oktoberfestbier with a tawny orange hue, toasted malts and then dry-hopped for added hop complexity.

Miller Lite introduces the Pilsner Bottle, a modern bottle design that is the new look of Miller Time.

Redd’s Apple Ale launches and asks you to Pick Different™.  It’s crisp like an apple -brewed like ale. Redd’s Apple Ale is a refreshing apple flavored golden ale with a crisp, clean finish that’s never too sweet.
Redd’s Strawberry Ale joins the Redd’s family shortly after Redd’s Apple Ale’s launch to continue offering perfectly balanced sweet and refreshing taste for a curious drinker looking for a fresh, new kind of beer.


Blue Moon creates a new limited edition beer - Carmel Apple Spiced Ale for the Fall variety Pack with artfully crafted suggestions from fans on Facebook. In 2012, each seasonal Variety Pack also includes a new limited edition beer as well - Valencia Amber Ale in spring, Agave Blonde Ale in summer and Spiced Amer Ale in Winter.

Blue Moon extends their new hybrid style with Proximity, a wheat beer brewed with the juice of Sauvignon Blanc grapes and Impulse, a wheat beer brewed with the juice of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

Blue Moon also introduces Farmhouse Red Ale (now known as Short Straw) in select markets.  Farmhouse Red blends the spiciness of a Farmhouse Ale with the tartness of a Flanders Red for a remarkably refreshing finish.

Leinenkugel’s extends “Shandy season” into the fall and winter with the introduction of Lemon Berry Shandy, a traditional wheat beer with a refreshing blend of blackberry juice and natural lemonade flavor.

Leinenkugel’s introduces a new winter seasonal- Leinenkugel’s® Snowdrift Vanilla Porter®. A fuller-bodied brew with hints of cocoa, coffee and caramel brought out by roasted malts and aged on real vanilla, our Leinenkugel’s® Snowdrift Vanilla Porter® is smooth and creamy, making it ideal for winter.

Leinenkugel’s introduces two new beers in the Big Eddy Series – Big Eddy Wee Heavy Scotch Ale, a blend of eight robust malts for complex flavor balanced by notes of dark chocolate, toffee and caramel; and Big Eddy Baltic Porter, with notes of coffee, cocoa, caramel, toasted bread, sherry fruit flavors, and a clean lager finish.

Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft brought the Punch Top Can to market on all 12oz and 16oz cans. Crack it, punch it and let it flow.


Coors Light and Coors Banquet introduce the Cold Activated Window on all secondary packages. The Cold Activated Window allows beer drinkers to see through the outside packaging so they know if the beer inside is cold.

Miller Lite introduces the Vortex Bottle. Unlike anything you've seen before, the spiral on the inside of the MIller Lite Vortex Bottle features specially designed grooves that allow our great pilsner taste to flow right out.


Coors Light and Coors Banquet introduce the Cold Activated Window on all secondary packages. The Cold Activated Window allows beer drinkers to see through the outside packaging so they know if the beer inside is cold.

Blue Moon introduces the Brewmaster Can. Now the artfully crafted taste of Blue Moon can be enjoyed where only cans can go.

Blue Moon introduces Pale Moon (now known as Rounder), a Belgian-style Pale Ale, to select markets. Pale Moon is crafted with hibiscus and orange peel for a hint of spiciness and touch of wheat for a smoother, rounder taste.

Leinenkugel’s introduces the Summer Shandy Can. Summer Shandy is already a great summer tradition.

Leinenkugel’s introduces 1888 Bock, the newest spring seasonal. In 1888, after enduring one of the coldest winters on record, Leinenkugel’s Spring Brewery created their first seasonal beer to celebrate the coming of spring. Blending dark and pale roasted malted barley and select hops, they allowed longer aging to create a robust beer with a creamy head. Unchanged since 1888, you’ll find our bock’s sturdy body and deep color perfect to draw you out of one season and into the next.

BATCH19 Pre-Prohibition Style Lager is introduced into limited markets. The beer was inspired by a recipe found in a logbook dating back to before the 1919 Prohibition and delivers a bold, hoppy flavor that is surprisingly well balanced.


Coors Light and Coors Banquet introduce the Cold Activated Can on all 12-ounce cans.

Miller Lite introduces the Miller Lite Aluminum Pint. With a wide mouth opening and resealable screw cap.

Blue Moon ends the year with a bang, celebrating the rare New Year’s Eve blue moon by introducing a limited-edition Grand Cru.

Leinenkugel’s brings a new year-round selection of Classic Amber. The brilliant amber color, premium blends of malts, and subtle, yet unmistakable citrus hop complexity make Classic Amber an all-malt masterpiece.


Coors Light introduces Cold Activated 24-ounce cans.
Coors Light launches the industry’s first vented wide-mouth can. The built-in vent and a new 8-percent wider opening combine to produce a smoother pour and reduce the vacuum, or “glugging,” effect.

Leinenkugel’s introduces Fireside Nut Brown®, featuring specially roasted English two-row malts, notes of chocolate and caramel and the aroma of maple. Fireside Nut Brown® is as comforting as the company of family and friends you share it with.


Coors Light introduces the Cold Activated Bottle, which features thermochromatic ink that turns the mountains blue when Coors Light has been chilled to the perfect temperature for ice-cold refreshment.

Miller introduces Miller Chill, the first light beer brewed with a hint of lime and a pinch of salt, a fusion of great beer traditions of two cultures-great light beer from America and the chelada style from Mexico.

Leinenkugel’s introduces a new beer style to the United States – Shandy. A Shandy is beer mixed with a little something extra like soda, juice or ginger ale. Leinenkugel’s® Summer Shandy® is a traditional wheat beer with refreshing natural lemonade flavor that makes it perfect for the sun-splashed summer months.


Coors announces the national availability of the sleek 8-ounce can, making Coors Light the first beer available in an 8-ounce serving. Not only does the smaller can cool down faster in the refrigerator or ice chest, it also eliminates the problem of warm beer at the bottom of a larger can. The can also features a new wide-mouth opening that makes it easy to drink.


Coors creates and sells a limited-edition 16-ounce keg-shaped can that uses unique can-shaping technology.


Wide-mouth can nationally. The wide-mouth can is 38 percent wider than other cans and offers consumers the smooth drinkability and refreshment similar to a glass of draft beer.


Coors introduces the first “malternative” beverage - Zima - to the marketplace.

Miller introduces Icehouse, the first American-brewed ice beer.


Miller introduces the original cold-filtered packaged draft beer, Miller Genuine Draft.


Miller brews and tests beer using the Lite Beer from Miller name. In 1975, Lite Beer from Miller is introduced nationally, launching the beer industry’s low-calorie segment.


Coors invents a new automated can-body maker.


Coors introduces the first two-piece aluminum beverage can. Today, we co-operate the nation’s largest aluminum can manufacturing plant in Golden, Colo.

Coors launches a recycling revolution by offering a penny for every can returned to the brewer. As a result, recycling programs are now instituted nationwide.

Engineers at Coors discovered and introduced the Coors sterile fill and filtering processes. At the same time, Coors developed controlled temperature marketing (refrigerated marketing).


Coors introduces its own machinery to produce and assemble six-pack cartons at the plant.


Miller bottles and cans are first sold in six-packs.


Miller and Coors first start producing beer in cans.


Miller Malt Extract is introduced as a product during Prohibition.


Mechanical filling, labeling and capping is in full production at Miller  Brewing Company. Beer was originally packaged in wooden kegs made by local coopers-the standard in those times. Bottled beer meant more choices for customers and better sales for our company. Bottling also boosted Miller's reputation, since customers could now see their brand emblazoned on the label of every bottle.


Mechanical refrigeration begins at Miller  Brewing Company. Miller originally fermented and matured our beer in caves-chilled by ice blocks from frozen lakes-deep in the limestone hills near their Milwaukee brew house. Mechanical refrigeration meant that beer could now be fermented and matured above ground, giving Miller better brewing control and year-round production.


Coors constructs an artificial ice manufacturing plant that includes a 250 horsepower Corliss engine - the beginning of mechanical refrigeration at the brewery.


Miller pasteurizes beer for the first time using tubs of hot water, becoming one of the first breweries in the world to use the new technology developed by Louis Pasteur in France in the late 1860s.


Coors patents a corking machine and bottle washer. The machine closes the bottle with a cork covered in foil and wire, much like the champagne bottles of today.
