Coors introduces the popular Coors Light brand, dubbed the “Silver Bullet,” which becomes one of the country's best-selling beers.

1986
Miller launches the original cold-filtered packaged draft beer, Miller Genuine Draft.

1988
Miller buys Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, allowing the brewer of great craft beers in Wisconsin’s Northwoods to grow and expand. It continues to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary.

1991
Coors finally becomes available in all 50 states. During the 1990s, Coors becomes the nation’s third-largest brewer and enjoys the fastest volume growth rate in the industry.
