MGD 64 Hits the Ground Running with Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series
MGD 64 announced today it will be the official beer sponsor of the 2009 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, one of the world’s premier marathon events. Starting this April, the beer that is “as light as it gets” will sponsor the 11-race nationwide series that includes live music entertainment at every mile and a concert at the finish line.
As the exclusive beer sponsor of the series, MGD 64 will participate in pre-race expos, offering product samples, information and merchandise to racers. Additionally, MGD 64 will be served at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Beer Gardens, post-race hospitality areas where thousands of participants and supporters gather to cool down and listen to live music.
“The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series gives MGD 64 a great outlet to introduce active consumers around the country to the crisp and refreshing taste of MGD 64,” said Tristi Pfeiffer, MGD 64 marketing manager. “With just 64 calories, MGD 64 offers ‘fresh-from-the-tap taste’ as a reward to participants for all their hard work, as well as to celebrate their accomplishment.”
With fresh, crisp flavor and a mere 64 calories and 2.4 grams of carbohydrates, MGD 64 is the perfect choice for legal-drinking-age consumers striving to maintain a sense of balance throughout their busy lifestyles. MGD 64 launched nationally in 2008 and recently became available on draft at bars and restaurants nationwide, providing another option for calorie-conscious consumers.
“We are excited to partner with this national sponsor for the Competitor Group’s running events including the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series,” said Scott Dickey, COO of the Competitor Group. “It will be a great opportunity for our participants to celebrate a great race while still maintaining their healthy lifestyles.”
In just eleven years, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series has developed into one of the world’s premiere marathon events.
