COORS LIGHT PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO BENEFIT HUNDREDS OF PHOENIX FAMILIES

Cena en el Barrio provides holiday food baskets

 

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Dec. 16, 2008) –Coors Light provided holiday meals to hundreds of Phoenix families in need with the help of Food City, Foundation for Parkinson’s and Neurological Research, Chicanos por la Causa and Crescent Crown Distributing.

“Coors Light is strongly committed to supporting the communities where we live and do business. Through our Cena en el Barrio efforts in Phoenix we are proud to help approximately 1,700 families,” said Joedis Avila, Multicultural Relations manager for MillerCoors. He noted that Coors Light donated $10,000 to support the drive. “This program has a direct and positive impact on the Hispanic community in Phoenix and Coors Light is proud to be a part of it,” Avila said.

"During these tough economic times, it’s especially important to do our part in helping families in need. With the help of Coors Light, and all of the community partners and volunteers, we will be able to make the holidays a little brighter for Phoenix families,"Steve Brown, Vice President Sales and Marketing of Crescent Crown Distributing, said.

Dozens of volunteers assembled food baskets containing holiday food items to feed a family of four-to-six people. In addition to volunteers, Coors Light provided bags for food distribution. Crescent Crown Distributing provided drivers and delivery vehicles and Food City donated the food items.

Cena en el Barrio is a partnership with local community based organizations in Phoenix, Denver, Los Angeles, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston. This year, the Cena en el Barrio program will donate an aggregate of over 8,000 food baskets to families in need.
