Pilsner Urquell Partners with Culinary Star Michael Symon
Pilsner Urquell, the original golden beer, is partnering with celebrity chef Michael Symon to showcase Pilsner Urquell’s unmatched compatibility with food. The partnership is a natural pairing between one of the world’s most cutting edge chefs and the world’s original golden beer.
A renowned chef and 2009 James Beard Foundation Award recipient, Symon can be seen regularly on the Food Network’s successful “Iron Chef America” program, of which he was a past winner. In addition, Chef Symon previously served as the host of the Food Network’s “Dinner: Impossible” and “The Melting Pot”, and has made numerous appearances on the network’s “Sara’s Secrets”, “Ready, Set, Cook” and “Food Nation” shows. In his latest culinary endeavor with Pilsner Urquell, Symon will highlight how matching food with appropriate beer is a great way to enhance the dining experience.
While countless people in the past have reached for a bottle of wine to go with their meals, beer is gaining a rightful seat at the dinner table. More and more people are discovering that beer has an incredible range of complex flavors that complement both classic and modern fare better than wine can.
As part of his efforts, Symon has created original recipes that specifically pair with the distinctive bittersweet, full-bodied taste of Pilsner Urquell. This summer, Chef Symon’s name and likeness and his original recipes will be featured in displays within stores where Pilsner Urquell is sold. His recipes and a variety of other consumer incentives can be downloaded at: www.PilsnerUrquellUSA.com.
“Pilsner Urquell’s unique interplay of hops and malts not only makes the beer a personal favorite of mine, but also a top food pairing choice. I am delighted at the opportunity to create recipes for the brand, while helping to educate folks about the beer’s superior taste and pairing opportunities,” Chef Symon said.
“Pilsner Urquell has the perfect combination of carbonation, bitterness and alcohol making it a great palate cleanser. And, it truly reaches its full flavor potential when consumed with food,” said Erin Bilot, Pilsner Urquell brand manager. “Our collaboration with celebrity chef Michael Symon will reinforce and extend this message beyond typical beer drinkers to the fine dining community. We are thrilled to be working with someone as talented and engaging as Michael on this initiative.”
Pilsner Urquell’s partnership with Symon is the latest relationship that the brand has established within the fine dining community. As a result of their affection for the brand, top sommeliers within New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco have already signed on as Pilsner Urquell ambassadors, making the beer a top choice among prestigious restaurants.
