Miller Lite Free Rides™ - Twin Cities

In support of drunk-driving prevention, MillerCoors will continue its popular Free Rides community service program this St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday, March 17. Offered under the umbrella of its Great Beer, Great Responsibility platform and in partnership with Metro Transit and J.J. Taylor Distributing, the Miller Lite Free Rides program will offer riders a safe transportation alternative during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the Twin Cities.

“Our Miller Lite Free Rides program is a longstanding tradition for St. Patrick’s Day in the Twin Cities and we thank those riders who help keep the roads safe by celebrating responsibly,” said Kim Marotta, vice president of corporate social responsibility for MillerCoors. “We believe that with great beer, comes great responsibility, and we’re pleased to offer alternative transportation programs like Free Rides to help raise community awareness that drunk driving is completely preventable.”

Now in its 13th year in the Twin Cities, Miller Lite Free Rides will provide bus and light-rail service, free of charge, on Wednesday, March 17, starting at 6:00 p.m. until the end of regular service. To obtain information on the program via mobile device, text FREERIDE to 30364. Consumers can also see Miller Lite Free Rides represented in their local St. Patrick’s Day parades.

“This year, we will celebrate 13 years of our involvement with the Free Rides program,” said Brian Lamb, Metro Transit’s general manager. “The free light-rail and bus service provided through this community program gives everyone an easy way to plan ahead by using public transportation for a safe ride home.”
