Miller Lite and Hailo to Give Away $1 Million Worth Of Taxi Rides

Miller Lite and Hailo, the world’s highest-rated taxi app, are teaming up to prevent drunk driving by giving away $1 million in cab rides in Chicago this holiday season. Beginning December 2, 2013, through January 5, 2014, participants can obtain a $10 Hailo discount code by visiting select bars throughout the city where Miller Lite is served. To redeem the code, simply download the Hailo app, enter the code and use it to summon a taxi.

“We know that drunk driving is completely preventable,” said Nehl Horton, Chief Public Affairs and Communications Officer at MillerCoors.  “That’s why we are proud to partner with Hailo to provide safe transportation to Chicagoans as they celebrate the holiday season.”

The Hailo partnership in Chicago is part of MillerCoors largest drunk driving prevention program to date: together, the companies are providing $3 million worth of cab rides throughout the holiday season in Chicago, Boston and New York.

“We want the holidays to be joyous, fun, and safe. This partnership with MillerCoors ensures that our passengers can fully embrace the holiday spirit without having to worry about getting home,” said David Boriss, Director of North American Operations at Hailo.

Chicagoans have more options than ever to celebrate safely – for the second year in a row, Miller Lite is the official sponsor of the Chicago Transit Authority’s Penny Rides program. Free rides will be available on all CTA bus and train routes on New Year’s Eve, beginning at 10 p.m. until 4 a.m.

Chicagoans who take advantage of the Miller Lite Hailo or CTA safe ride services can share their plans to #CelebrateSafe during the holidays by posting a photo of themselves and their 21+ crew via Twitter or Facebook. Follow @MillerCoors and @HailoChicago to join the conversation. Hailo discount codes must be redeemed by January 5, 2014.
