Great People and Communities

Our employees, suppliers and communities each play a vital role in making us who we are. To support these groups, the strategy of our people and communities focuses on three areas:
  • Diversity and inclusion;
  • Supporting diverse suppliers; and
  • Investing in our communities
We believe it's important to celebrate the diversity of our workforce and supply chain. We also dedicate our time and resources to improving the environmental and social conditions in our brewing communities.

2015 Goal: Exceed $2 Million Annually in United Way Contributions

Each October, we kick off our annual United Way campaign, a key part of our community investment.
Our employees donate funds and participate in volunteer activities in their local communities. MillerCoors matches employee donations and donates $2 for each volunteer hour logged by employees.
In 2014, our total investment was about $1.9 million to United Way, which is less than our goal
to donate $2 million annually. While we have not achieved our goal, we will continuously strive
to reach this important milestone.

External Commentary: Modesto Tico Valle, CEO of Center on Halsted

MillerCoors and Center on Halsted in Chicago have a robust and long-standing partnership. The mission of Center on Halsted is to advance community and secure the health and well-being of the LGBT people of Chicagoland
“MillerCoors is an important partner in helping us fulfill our mission,” said Modesto Tico Valle, CEO of Center on Halsted. “One of the most significant aspects of our partnership with MillerCoors is the annual Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, when our friends at MillerCoors go shopping with us for turkeys, hams and all the fixings.” The lunches are held on the holidays, and about 20 volunteers prepare and serve meals to more than 125 seniors and youth from the community who have no place else to go. It’s truly a community event that wouldn’t be possible without the support of MillerCoors.
MillerCoors also provides product for Center on Halsted’s special events, annual gala and other community events.  Center on Halsted has also been a beneficiary of the Great Cents challenge since the program originated. This partnership encourages local bars to give back to local community organizations based upon product sales during gay pride month in June. “Our community proudly supports MillerCoors because MillerCoors supports us,” Tico said. "It’s a great partnership.”
